The Store To-Do List
Daily Chores at the Store
Questions or Concerns: Call Steve at (705) 222-DUMB
10 am to 1 pm – Steve or Designate
Put out the sign.
Put out the book cart if weather is permitting.
Plug in the OPEN light
Turn on the lights
On warm days, open the back door and turn off the air cleaner.
Empty the dehumidifier (summer) and turn off if the back door is open
Scoop the cat boxes
Give the cats fresh water
Give cats more food if needed, including canned – if not given already.
Canned food has a bit of hot water added to it to make it tasty. An l-lysine capsule is added. Talk to Steve for details.
Medicate any cats who need it – there should be a note in the book.
Vaccum the floor of the entire shop; sweep out or vacuum the cat cages.
Brush off or vacuum the furniture, cat beds, cat furniture, etc.
Wash floor if needed.
Gather up and take out the garbage.
1 pm to 5 pm – Afternoon Volunteers
Check the Volunteer’s log book.
Check the cat list against the cats in the shop. (Should be the same! :)
Clean glass and windows if smudged.
Brush out the cats.
Clean toilet and sink if needed.
DECLUTTER and tidy.

At the end of the day…
Bring in the sign.
Bring in the book cart
Unplug the Open sign
Turn off all the lights except the “pot” lights
Close the back door and lock (if open)
Turn on the air cleaner.
If it’s humid, plug in the dehumidifier.
Wash any dishes in the sink
Scoop the cat boxes if needed
Give the cats fresh water if needed
Give cats more food if needed
Keep the radio on low.
Lock up the front door.
